In this blog i will be analyzing the magazine 'VIBE', how it has been developed and came into business

Vibe magazine

Vibe magazine mainly focus on big musicians, the genre of music they focus on is rap/hip hop. On the cover of the magazine we see an image of the artist 'Eminem', Eminem is one of the worlds best and well known rappers and song writers, he has a huge verity of fans across the world, male and female.Vibe magazine is mixed gender so this magazine is targeted to both male and female.
Masthead is placed at the top of the magazine cover in a large font. Its  red and black font colour helps it stand out against the white background of the text. The image takes most of the space of the front cover, with the cover lines on the sides. The image even overlaps the masthead, but it still recognisable.
This magazine targets new readers as well as usual readers. where the image is placed the person in the image is looking straight at the reader. The direct gaze helps simulate interaction with each individual reader. The image of Eminem is a medium shot, and takes most of the space on the front cover.  'Eminem' is the clear point of focus in the magazine because we see him on his own so we have to notice how he is standing and what is happening. then next to the image there is a sub-heading 'EMINEM comes clean". The sub heading is in BIG, BOLD letters so its catches the readers eye. therefor it being eye catching to the audience targeted. In faded letters we see 'Vicodin. Valium. Methadone.' and 'comes clean' grabs the audiences attention and makes them wanting more. Vibe magazine uses a quote that Eminem has said "Literally almost died" by the magazine putting this information making the reader want to read more.
Cover lines, The cover line are giving the big and best names in the hiphop and rap business. They might be giving hinds to what stories they have inside or what the magazine has in store for the reader. "Who is the best rapper ever? You decide" Vibe is giving the reader a chance to pick there favorite rapper. They're getting the reader involved and making them apart of the magazine.
