What I've Learned

This blog is simply just bullet point what i have learned about how a magazine is structured and what i learned from analyzing the Q magazine.

  • One of the main things i have learned is to sort of keep the magazine simple, such as the logo. By keeping the logo the same the audience will always remember it and that will allow the magazine to sell more.
  • Using main and bold words to attract the audiences attention, like little hints of what is in the magazine. The word have to be interesting for them to be attracted by them.
  • The main image is always big and covers around about 90% of the page, making it very eye catching to the audience, and if it is aimed at a target audience then the picture will make them what to purchase the magazine.
  • Having an importing selling line is always a good thing to have for example " The best playlists and album charts FOR YOU", making the targeted audience wont to see the playlists and albums. This is also making the magazine interesting.
  • Using either a close up shot or a medium shot of the person on the front cover, giving them some sort of dominates over other people and that they are the focal key of the magazine. This could also help link is with the cover lines because we can see his/hers facial expression. For example if the person in the shot is angry and the cover line said "John is MAD all the time" this is linking in with the picture.
